went out biking today and got to see bats hunting in some pretty good light. have developped a fascination with springs and general energy storage. really want to figure out the inner workings of music boxes specifically. i've got an old one i'm trying to keep myself away from tearing open for sentimental reasons but the handle for it is broken anyway so i might just go crazy.

located one of those old small cameras that I'd given up on for some reason a while ago. checked it. it works. i never bring my phone with me on walks because i hate my phone. this will offer a nice alternative. i'm also working on a blog post about my gripes with the concept of identity. we'll see when i finish that.

something huge happened today. life is about to get much easier. i feel like i can breathe again. huge W for g. aside from that ive been playing barotrauma with friends, havin a lot of fun.

got the wrong cable for the casio. fuuuk. went out to see the killdeer and their chicks again. been replaying phantom hourglass and having fun. i think the 3d models for it are really charming and cool. glad that i can appreciate them now that i know what they are.

disgusting hot weather but i went out anyway. efforts rewarded. got to see two killdeer chicks and a juvenile eastern phoebe being fed.

saw a green heron for the first time. i've wanted to see one for a while. kewl. i also learned about fovea, which i have a very very hard time conceptualising having more than two of. in the same vein as imagining a colour i've never seen before. nuts.

walked around the woods for 2 hours after and during rain and got my feet wet about 5 minutes in. massive patch of horsetail in the usual spot. i should harvest some. started noticing a bunch of slugs and snails around on the ground and i really hope i did not step on a bunch.

saw eastern kingbirds for the first time. was really confused because from far away they looked like swallows but were acting like flycatchers. white tail band helped identify.

bought a casio ct-390 for cheap. it's got rust damage from battery acid, but it seems pretty localised to the battery compartment and bottom of the case. can't see any on the board. waiting on the cable to come in for it so i can test it out. hopefully it works. if it does i gotta find someone with a sander. also copped a 200$ biology textbook for 6$. gains.
